At the end of December 2008, Match had a total of approximately 270 000 subscribers in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>In this document, Marc Simoncini, CEO of Meetic, declares : \u00ab We have today signed a historic agreement for the acquisition of European operations at Match.com. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>But can we really talk about an acquisition ? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not really \u2026<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is rather correspondint to an exchange of shares.<\/p>\n<p>Although Meetic acquires all European activities of the american company,\u00a0 Match will own 27% of Meetic\u2019s stakes after the agreement .
